Sedation Dentistry

Be calm, comfortable and relaxed with us at Springhill Dental Health Center

It has been said that from 9% to 15% of Americans avoid seeing the dentist because of anxiety and fear. That’s about 30 million to 40 million people. If you are one of those who can’t sleep the night before an appointment or the thought of going to the dentist makes you feel ill, or you gag or have strong anxiety when things are put in your mouth, just know that Byron C. Scott, DMD and his team at Springhill Dental Health Center in Mobile, Alabama place your comfort above all else.

Dental fears relieved

Dental anxiety and dental phobia are not laughing matters. We want patients to come to us that have had bad dental experiences so they can see that the dental office can be warm and welcoming and treatment can be relaxing. Even if you have feared the dentist your entire life, we can help you have a calm and positive experience. One of our patients stated:

“I feared the dentist all my life. I heard Dr. Scott on the radio talking about how dentistry can be painless. My wife brought me to see Dr. Scott and I have never had any pain or fears with his office. Dr. Scott completely re-did my mouth and has made me a new person!”

If you are ready to take a leap of faith and see Dr. Scott and his team, we would love to meet you. We will listen to all of your fears and provide options for sedation dentistry so you are comfortable and relaxed.

Oral sedation

A highly effective and widely used sedation method is called oral sedation. If you need something to help you relax for your dental exam we can provide medication to take about an hour before you see us. You will be conscious but fully relaxed as we complete your exam or procedure. There is no reason to put off going to the dentist anymore. With oral sedation, paired with our warm and friendly team and office environment, you are sure to feel your best.

Nitrous oxide

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is also available, even for  short appointments like dental cleanings or simple fillings upon request. We go out of our way to assure that you are relaxed, comfortable, confident and informed for each and every appointment you have with us.
