Dental Implants

Subperiosteal Bar Bar with Overdenture

Dr. Scott's dental implant placement and tooth replacement options offer hope and a renewed quality of life for those who once found smiling to be an embarrassment and eating to be a chore.
If you avoid smiling, laughing out loud, or eating in public due to missing teeth or slipping dentures, you may be a candidate for dental implant surgery.
Whether you are missing one, a few, or all of your teeth, dental implants is the most natural-looking solution for restoring your smile and ability to chew with comfort and confidence.
Dental implant surgery is an alternative to dentures. Dental implants anchor prosthetic (artificial teeth) to your jawbone, and act as substitutes for natural tooth roots. There is also a type of dental implant that can be used when the bone or jaw structure is severely limited. This type, called a subperiosteal implant, rests on top of the bone instead of being placed within the bone.
Dental implants offer a new foundation of support for replacement teeth. In order to determine if you are a candidate for dental implant placement, Dr. Scott will begin by taking a thorough dental history and assess your current, overall medical condition. He will then examine the health of your mouth, jaw bones and joints, as well as your tooth alignment and bite. If you wear any type of denture, Dr. Scott will determine its fit in your mouth and observe whether it is causing damage to your gums or jaw bones.
To evaluate conditions of the bone and teeth not visible to the naked eye, Dr. Scott will take X-rays of your entire mouth. Blood tests may also be necessary.
Once all these steps are taken, Dr. Scott will discuss your tooth replacement options. He will explain in detail the exact procedures, time and costs of your proposed treatment. All benefits and risks involved will be thoroughly discussed with you in advance.
Our goal, prior to any procedure, is for you to totally understand all aspects of the dental implant surgery and feel comfortable discussing any questions and concerns you may have. In 28 years of offering dental implant placements to our patients, numerous patients have been helped and smiles restored. The benefits of improved comfort, function, health, appearance, and enhanced self-esteem and confidence are now available to many people who had literally lost all hope of ever being able to smile again.
